We follow grading guidelines set out by Judo Scotland to ensure a consistent standard is set to pass each grade.
Below are resources to help you practice for your next grade!
The Kai Grade Syllabus is designed for kids under the age of 8 and focuses on the fundamental movements needed for Judo.
Kai Grade Syllabus
The Mon Grade Syllabus is designed for Juniors aged 8 and above and helps participants gain technical ability and understanding of the sport as well as Japanese terminology.
Mon Grade Syllabus
The Kyu Grade Syllabus is designed for senior players. You will follow a progressive study of techniques building your knowledge of technical skills and Japanese terminology as well as developing fighting strategy in preparation for competitions.
Kyu Grade Syllabus
The Dan Grades (Black Belt) are seen as the ultimate achievement for a Judoka. Hard work, dedication and great technical knowledge is needed to pass each Dan Grade. Dan Grades can be earned by competing against others who are the same grade as well as completing technical examinations at National Gradings.
